Dyno Day Saturday May 12th 10AM

Alright, so a few of us have been doing some research, talking to some people, building rockets, and picking our noses.... We've been talking about a dyno day for a while now and we have an idea. This afternoon I met with Geoff over at swift motorsports in Norwich. Truely cool dude, shot the shit with him for an hour or so. Here's the deal... Costs 600 smackers to rent the dyno for the day. Or we can go by number of cars. Ten cars for 65 per, or 15 for 55 per. Still not a bad price if you ask me for a couple of pulls! There would be NO tuning performed of coarse. This would entail only figuring hp/torque numbers, monitoring a/f r's and whatnot. (15 cars max for the day)

There are other options though. Geoff said that even if we didn't want to do a dyno day, we have the option of using the switft motorsports lot and have a meet and just hang out there. Lot is a decent size, from walking in and out of the shop I figure we could fit at least 25+ cars. This would still allow a meet, and people who were curious the option to get some pulls in, but not for a group rate price.

We can pretty much chose any date we would like. As of right now the only dates taken are: april 7th, 21st, and 28th. Jeff said he would not need a huge notice in advance, just said to let him know if we wanna get something going.

Here's what I ultimately would like to know:

Would anyone be interested in a dyno day at swift motorsports in Norwich?
My goal is to organize a dyno day/barbeque/meet at their facility, with the possibility of a raffle (have to talk to the others). We could make a day out of it, seeing as how mohegan sun is about a 1.5 miles down the road. Could have a drive, a dyno day/meet, and have some drinks and gambling fun at the casino later on. Post what you think, and offer suggestions if you have any! Thanks for reading my long ass thread!

weight isn't an issue on the dyno... Power loss can be had if the car is strapped down too tight due to extra parasitic drag, but not because of weight (Unless its Unsprung aka Rotational weight).. :)

Usually strapping the first car down is around 10am... Showing up around 9:30 is usually pretty good, that way we can start to make lists of who is going in what order... things like that...

Also, if you want to make it a little easier on the Swift guys, if there are any cars that ARE NOT awd, make a note of it on the first page... As those guys usually dyno first, because the dyno configuration changes slightly from FWD to RWD and AWD...

They usually start the dyno around 10ish... I plan on being there a few minutes early. We have the dyno for the whole day! When you get there and you want to dyno GET YOUR NAME ON THE LIST. All you have to do is go to the front desk, ask for your friendly swift counterman Geoff, make him sit, lay down, and roll over for a cookie, and get your waiver sheet for the dyno. Those who called for dyno time on the first post have dibs... but who's to say there won't be more time. 15 cars is alot of work just to get dynoed though, so lets play it by ear. If you make it in the pack of the first 15, we will be staying until you get dynoed, there is no definite closing time for the dyno day from what I understand. Hope to see you all there, and more importantly hope everyone has fun!!

If I was to bring the S2K does anyone know if I'd be able to get it on the dyno? Obviously its rwd so I dont know if itd go first or last depending how they'd set up the dyno. Or would anyone have a problem with me bringing it?

Also with having 14-15 cars is the dyno cost about $55 bucks?

I'm not going to be able to Dyno the Legacy due to a series of bad exhuast leaks. Got it up on a lift today and my header is missing a bolt and has about 3 other leaks including a potential small crack. Downpipe is also leaking off the turbo slightly. I will still come by around noon to meet everyone. I can't even begin to explain how pissed off i am right now

get a water sprayer. the n-tercooler is a waste of money. it's only really useful on the dyno or if you drag a lot. Any other time the car is moving enough where just water is enough to fight heatsoak. Plus, who wants to be paying for NOS or CO2 all the time.

Dusty, you were getting heat soak with a FMIC? Didn't they have a good fan in front of it? Spray that pig with the hoose!
