I've found something aside from my car to spend an unseen amount of money on! Its fish! Currently I have 6 tanks set up... two 1 gallons, a 10 gallon, a 29 gallon, a 55 gallon, and a 75 gallon.
First tank is a 1 gal vase for my crown tail betta

Second tank is a 10 gallon planted with a dwarf gourami, a few tetras, and a few ghost shrimp

He's shy, but spends the entire day, everyday, rebuilding his bubble nest

Third tank is a 29 gallon brackish tank for the green spotted puffer. it used to have 2 puffers and a mono sabea but some how they died.... I have another 1 gal tank that I use to breed snails to feed to this fish

How hard is the salt water setup? My mom wanted to do a salt water setup for some fish (she has like 3 freshwater tanks), but said it'd be too much work haha.

My roommate in college had a salt water tank, it was so gorgeous until she stopped taking care of it, then it had salt crusts on all the glass edges and goo on the sides.

Very nice! I love having fish even tho they can be hard to take care of sometimes. I had a 75 gallon for a while a few years back. I had a lot of Cichlids and a Pacu that got really big. When the Pacu died I weighed it on our bathroom scale and it was 15 pounds  LoL. After he went I had a few Silver Arowanas which are my favorite fish, just beautiful. It’s a great hobby to get into...enjoy! :rocker:

The initial cost is a lotttt, but once everything is running properly i've heard they pretty much take care of themselves. The live rock is essential for filtration so you need about 1.5-2 lbs per gallon and at $5.99 a lb for the rock, it gets expensive quick.

Ummm.... Seriously. I need to see these puffers Scott.
I just bought a pleca for my 29 gallon. I'm hoping he will pick up after what the chinese algea eater left... ::grrr:: Want to come clean my tank? My fishes will love you!
You should see the beta bowl I made!!

Awesome! :) I like animals I can pet more, and I know I'd never be able to keep fish alive... haha, but fish tanks look great and really add a lot to a home. :) Good range of fish you have, too. :)

A bit of an update. The last puffer has passed, so I moved the planted tank inhabitants form the 10 gal to the 19 gal. Currently the two sharks are in the 10 gallon being quarantined for a bit of internal bleeding they're having. Chances are they won't make it. With all the work on the salt water tank, I kind of neglected all my fresh tanks
Anywho, I finally have something living in my saltwater tank. I'll start with the Invertebrates
*WARNING* I suck at taking pictures and what makes it worse is that with a water turnover rate of about 900 gallons per hour between, everything moves and its really hard to take a non-blurred shot

Asterina. These were hitchhikers on some live rock I got

Mini Brittle Star. Also hitchhikers, like to hide in the rocks... so this is only it's tentacles. This is what they actually look like (http://reef.myip.org/refugium/images/IA_star2.jpg)

not all that applies anymore. obviously i didn't get that job.... but essentially, housing is less expensive pretty much everywhere else in the country than in CT. so since my girlfriend works at a hospital, she can pretty much get a job anywhere. we're looking at the myrtle beach, sc area. we want to go some where warm where people are actually pleasant..... but lets not get off topic here
