ok, so i never thought that i would want to buy tuning software for many obvious reasons: price, skill needed, blowing motor, etc. but since the price of the Cobb StreetTUNER has dropped by 50% im kindof interested in picking it up. it used to go for 395 and now it is only 195 with free shipping. i wonder, how hard would it really be to sit down and really start tweaking things a little bit. ofcourse, i would sit down and read read read as much as i can before i go touching anything, but for now the ability to see all of the data would be nice. yea, i have datalogging software that i got for free, but the streettuner has some very nice features. they also have a "how to" on the streetTUNER and give suggested tuning tips for each value. anyone have any input on this? for 195 its really something id look into now.

Have you seen it running? They had it set up at the WBM last year (maybe this year too, didn't look). It's got a lot of features... and probably a lot of ways of destroying your car.

nope havent seen it running yet. and i agree and have read that its very powerful stuff, meaning you can really F things up if you dont know what you are doing, or arent careful while learning. im willing to learn, and would love to learn actually, its something that has interested me.

I wanted one before and now I really do  half price  You'd figure they'd have a Tuning for Dummies type of approach since they sell it to the general public. Now I can tune mine to not run rich

yea, theres tons of books about tuning, and anyone CAN learn it, it just takes alot of time and reading. i might get it still just to learn the skill if nothing else. oh, and try running some data logs, the cobb stage 2 really isnt as rich as most of us thing. turbo cars generally run a bit richer than n/a but for a turbo car the cobb isnt as rich as you might think. looking at the a/r's throuhout the rev range its really not that bad. ofcourse it could be tweaked a little bit, but its not as bad as say...UTEC basemaps :)

lets do eet! I'll get it (maybe someday) and then you can copy me :D and buy it and then tune after you see what i did and copy that too. but i should get it since no where protunes in S FL :furious: Ill research it and then decide if its worth it.

edit- i was reading some of the features and it says adjustable rev limits and how you can go up to 10K RPM....that cant be good right? Stock redline is 7K even to 8 doesnt sound like a good idea. I know some of the JDM engines go to 8+ but are those any differently tuned with stronger internals or just set higher as they are saying you can do with this?

its def worth it for the money, no question about it. just wonder how bad i would f up things if i wasnt careful. tuning would be fun though, and you can share maps with other people if you have ST.

it'll be fine and dandy until the moment something blows up, then you'll rue the day that you bought it.

haha then ill know what NOT to do next time :) really though, i wouldnt feel comfortable tuning without a wideband, so add 350 to that 195
