Track Car?
Anyone run a subaru as a track car in NASA or CartCT?
I'm putting my 25rs together and I'm interested in what others have done. Thanks, Mike

Well, I just have a ton of ideas and i'd like to see what others have done, what makes sense for the classes, rules, etc.
For instance - Fenders.... I want to stuff a 245 under those things and I'd like to see a few methods people have been able to do it with that size or larger while also laying the car as low as possible... but not too low to wack the bump stops... etc.

You can roll the fenders, but the GC fenders wont allow for a WIDE roll... Todd cleared 275/40/17 on his GC with 17x7.5+48 (I think.. might have been +53)... But i believe he ran spacers...

Yeah, I dont mind cutting the fenders though. The car is dedicated track so I dont give a fuck about driving it.
I was thinking cut out about 2.5 inchest of fender and putting one of those ricer/jeep plastic flares over it to widen them... like this: http://media.photobucket.com/image/F...b/DSCF1036.jpg I'd have to do something different in the back though...

You're best bet is to figure out what class you want to run and build to that spec. You don't want to just build a car and then find out that you have to run in some ultra modified class because of something you did. you may end up in a class with no competition. You should check out some events and find out what classes have good participation, that way you don't end up just running against the clock. I'd also talk to people in the class you're thinking of running and find out what it costs them to run for a season. that way you can build to your budget. Example: what good is having wide wheels if you can only afford one set of tires for them? Or buying a big brake kit if you can't afford to replace rotors/pads?
just some things to think about.

Well I want to run with NASA ultimatly Wheel to Wheel in ST2 or lower. ST2 is basically all out running sti swapped 2.5rs' and shit... I'm running a stock motor now so I dont think I'd fall in that group.
Typically they run power/weight ratio classes.

Looking at Nasa W2W requirements =
Super Touring R2 - “Adjusted” wt/hp ratio equal to, or greater than, 8.70:1 Right now my car is looking at a 15.41:1 wt/hp lol - so there is defo some room for improvement. Most modifications are unlimited up until the 8.71 rule so I could work on making the car lighter - or... more powerful
