Wow... I remember the DBW tables on the older cars not being 1:1 and awfully odd... But this is just... wow... Thats one thing I hated about DBW was not having 1:1 throttle response...

I'm really curious about what the weak link in this car is..

Yeah but remember what happened when we tried out 1:1 on the DBW table on my stg1 tune? It's just not a reasonable way to have it set up imho. But I digress....

VERY informative write-up Chris! I haven't seen the post on lgt yet, but I'll make sure I get over there to watch the discussion. I'm really curious how these trannys are going to hold up.... I'm actually nervous for the owners pioneering with these mods. I'm sure you know and told your customer..... but is he planning on an upgraded tmic? That stocker will not hold 17 psi for long.....

Please explain 1:1 and how you are tuning the tables to achieve this? I'm not getting what you guys are doing?

He's just talking about altering the drive-by-wire settings.... We played with the inputs/ratios of the dbw settings and tried to get it as close to 1:1 ratio for input vs. reaction.... Completely useless way to set the car up. You could put the weight of your big toe on the throttle and it was like mashing the gas.

That table is dynamic and cannot be tuned like that. The ratio needs to be slowly ramped up as throttle input is added. If you are basically just interpolating the throttle from 0-100, you are going to get a car that is wildly too responsive. I only increase the inputs below 50% by a few percent, after 50%, I ramp it up quite a bit, this gives the car great throttle response once the car is moving.. The race cars have a much more agressive mapping, but even still, it's nearly stock below 30% input.

I am not talking about on legacies... Its been quite awhile since i've even looked at a subaru map (Over a year), but I recall changing the DBW on my STi (MY04) to be more relational to cable pedal feel.. Its just how I liked it on my car..

I tried to alter it when I did dusty's lgt wagon, and it didn't like it, and i was like yeah, i'm not about to get into this for a stage1, and dont have the patience to figure it out... Then I stopped tuning and left it to the people that have the time to spend on it... lol

EDIT: Whoa... Just downloaded RomRaider (dont even have it on this laptop), and opened up an old map... I dont even remember alot of these tables being there back in the ECU Defs I was using almost 2 years ago..

In order to start building a "front pipe" for Alex's LGT, we needed a flange made for the turbo, so I got a turbo outlet gasket from Subaru... they thought I needed the inlet as well, so they sent both. So for most everyone who hasn't seen these yet, here are the inlet and outlet gaskets on this new turbo setup:
